Featured on Linux.com!

Thanks to an utter fluke, it seems the boys over at Linux.com have written about the whole fiasco I helped contribute to during the summer.

It's good to know that I haven't lost touch with my advocate skills. I remember starting out, years ago, on a little old site known as "eBaum's World Sucks", a now-defunct site that was dedicated to fighting ol' eBaum. The fucker was ripping off copyrighted content, and was profiteering through banner ads. He had a massive following a few years back, and yet the entire site is seeped in irrelevence thanks to the works of others and myself. Hell, it was us who helped get the eBaum's World TV show canceled!

So yeah, a good find, I'd say.

Oh, the Wanking Youth!

For the sake of time, I am going to let this do the talking for me.

That is my response to the baby-molesting Linux Youth who wrote the damn article.

See, this is what really pisses me off: Anyone from a simplified-Linux community (Ubuntu, PCLoS, Linux Mint) seem to worship the concept of the GPL. While I must admit that I have a respect for GPL software, it pisses me off beyond belief when these kids go rabid about it.

Let's review:

"OMG MicRO$haFT IS EVIL!!!FUCK NOVELL AND Micharl de iZaca111111!" -This is a clear sign of stupidity and lack of understanding.

As I put earlier, Microsoft is a CORPORATION. They sell SOFTWARE for MONEY! It's a traditional business model, making a product for money. I shit you not.

Now, I use OpenSolaris and Fedora. I use them because I choose them, and I do my part in NOT forcing people to choose an OS. Some people are just fine with Windows, why on earth would they want to switch?

Honestly, grow the fuck up.

Well, Shit.

So, some bastards from the bank shut off the water at my house. Dipshits.

Speaking of dips and shits, have you ever read the Ubuntu story?

Well, I've got the real deal. And it's a lot more believeable.

Sigh...KDE4

Well, there's an awful lot of hype about KDE 'Freakin Four. My daughter Roweena-Mayer told me, "Daddy, you're all for freedom. You should try it."

Don't you just love three year olds?

So, I booted up my GNU/HURD install, and began cross-compiling everything, making sure to keep it as free as Richard M. Stallman (Peace Be Upon Him) would want. Everything went along swimmingly, as there isn't much that ISN'T free with the KDE project nowadays. After all, they have that "Be Free" slogan going for them, right?

Well, I was severely disappointed by 4.1 Beta 1. The quality was FAR, FAR lower than a beta. However, let's compare this to something that has been in ALPHA for the longest time and is:

-More solid
-Better looking than my ex wife. (Angelina Jolie)
-More responsive than a five year old kid being pushed down a hill.

What is this something? Oh, gee. It's E17. Light as fuck, beautiful as fuck.

KDE4 4.1, not so much. Also, what's up with the whole numbering scheme nowadays? Are we trying to go for a Mac OSX knock-off? Badly implemented white-grey themes with blue bars? It reminds me of the whole "Let's get Steve Jobs back, he can do something with our Operating System!" debacle that became Mac OSX.

Anyways, KDE4.

It doesn't live up to the hype. At all. And here's why: the coders are designing the apps. The designers are coding the apps. They need to switch up if they ever want the apps to become stable, nice-looking, and POWERFUL. You want to explain the qualities of freedom, you fucking fight for it. By all means.

I'd put up a screenshot of what it looked like, but Plasma crashed so many times that it just wasn't worth it.

E17 is the way to go, for me at least.

Oh, and on a rather unrelated note, my newfound nemesis Roy "Shits for Wits" Schestowitz, has released a chatlog of him crying profusedly like a little girl.

Interesting how he targets all those innocent people, as well as my dear friend Sean.

Roy, you fag...

An Open Letter From Linux/Linux Haters? to Roy Schestowitz

Well, it seems as if Heaven itself has opened. The Linsux community, notorious for their purposely flubbed reporting (it's a satire site, come on.), has written an open letter to Roy Schestowitz (aka Roy Shitzfowitz)

Well, that's nice to see.

Roy Sketzowitz: Crybaby

This is a follow-up article to Boycott Novell: Defenders of Freedom, or Offenders of Freedom?

So, Roy Sketzowitz (Or However the Fuck You Spell His Name), has decided to be an Uber Pussy, and cry.

Let me paraphrase what he's said:

"Oooh, ooh! Those people are from Novell! They support OpenSUSE! They're ON THE BOARD! THOSE BASTARDS! HOW DARE THEY HAVE SUN WITH MY REPUTATION!"

Note how he has incorrectly misspelled "Fun". Obviously, he forgot to spell it with an F, the grades he recieved all throughout his Journalism courses.

I happen to belong to the GNU/Hurd community. I completely support freedom, but I can understand Novell's position, goddammit.

Some of us just need to grow up to play like the big boys.

Boycott Novell: Defenders of Freedom, or Offenders of Freedom?

Ladies and gentlemen, sit down. You have all been taken advantage of in the worst manipulative mental carnival imagineable.

FUD. We all know the term. Wikipedia states it as: "Fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) is a tactic of rhetoric used in sales, marketing, public relations, and illiberal democracies. FUD is generally a strategic attempt to influence public perception by disseminating negative (and vague) information."

For the longest time, this tactic has been largely connected with Microsoft. Free Software advocates have lashed out against these unfair statements, in an attempt to maintain a fair playing field.
There is one site, however, that tries to "play dirty" with Microsoft, and Novell. Enter the era of double-standards and bullshit. Boycott Novell is the unsatisfied FUD-mongerer's answer to corporations.

First and foremost, there are many differences in ideologies in the Linux universe. In many areas, projects such as Ubuntu and Debian mix proprietary software with Free Software. Some teams, such as gNewSense, strive harder for utter freedom. And finally, there is the polar opposite: distributions that try to expand into a corporate/business environment. Some of these distros, such as SuSE, have made prospective deals with Microsoft to ensure interoperabilty in the corporate medium. Is there anything really wrong with this? Ordinarily, people would shrug and not worry too much about it. However, Boycott Novell treats it as an "Unholy Marriage between Freedom and Shackles"

Anti-Microsoft FUD has been nothing new. It has circulated for years in Free Software communities, and everything's been hunky-dory. However, many of the said Anti-Microsoft FUD has degraded into brainless forum posts by users who otherwise do not know any better. A good example is Microsoft Office. While there's nothing really wrong with OpenOffice, many people are disgusted with MS Office not supporting ODF, an ISO Standard. Finally, after Microsoft publicly stated that it "Will be supporting ODF in the near future.", a FUDstorm from Boycott Novell states that "Microsoft is playing us, to HAMPER Free Software"

Well, Microsoft is a COMPANY. They've been making Office software before Linux was even around. Of course they're going to be skeptical of adopting a new format standard, the ones they've been using have worked just fine. As a COMPANY, Microsoft has to make decisions that are the most sound, not just radical, dangerous ideas. Besides which, is it really anyone's business on how they run things, if we're all running a non-Microsoft Operating System? How is that going to affect the price of rice tomorrow? It WON'T.

Nevertheless, Boycott Novell spreads FUD like a plague. It has misled hundreds of thousands of Free Software advocates, and it constantly works on staining the reputations of companies that have done nothing wrong. What's worse, they often have little proof of anything. Ever read a Boycott Novell article? Funny how they cite themselves 10 or more times in every article, rather than actually pointing to any relevent news. Give us facts grounded in reality, for Christ's sake!

The articles themselves are playing on a single card: fear. Their so-called "news" is nothing more than overblown forum posts and speculations that were stretched out to be crap-filled articles. They play the mentality of everyone's least favorite forum trolls, stating "OH MICRO$HAFT IS EVIL, USE LINUX ITS BETTER! LOLOLOLOLOL!". Some people are just fine with using Windows/Mac/BSD/etc. An OS does NOT make a person, actions and words do.

And, as stated before, they use themselves as sources of information. A real journalist would know to link to real information sites, or at least speculation sites. They could say "Well, it's completely possible that..." instead of "NO! THIS IS FACT! BELIEVE LIKE US! THINK LIKE US! CONFORM! BE AN INDIVIDUAL!", it's a worse case than the rampant Mac-fanboyism.

There is a way to reverse this problem: knowledge. Real tech journalists should stop buying into the bullshit. Instead, they should start doing real research and facts, rather than the "Yellow Journalism" that has left Hearst and Pullitzer to roll in their graves. As a group, Free Software supporters need to end the hate and anger against faceless companies. It's counter-productive. Furthermore, it's just damn silly.

Stupid Letdowns

I have been let down. Society in general is a disgusting thing, especially when things like this happen:

Kid, what the Hell do you think you're doing?! You fuck-filled little prat, your playing is ABYSMAL! How DARE you try and ruin the anthem of my running mate, Duke Nukem.

1. You're out of tune.
2. Your guitar squeals all over the place. How original.
3. Your "Creative interpretive solos" are just random pickings. Did you think of those yourself, or did the ringing in your ears from being beaten over the head with Mommy's whiskey bottle inspire you? They can only be compared to sticking your cock into the end of a rat, and raping the shit out of it.
4. You are 100% off on keeping up with the back tape.
5. Your electric tuner failed you. A real guitarist tunes from the fifth of the E string, and you use a tuning fork for tuning the actual E string. EPIC FAIL.

It's just...gah.

Even more of a letdown is the Ubuntu Linux community. Their users bitch and piss and moan about everything under the sun. A few examples.

1. Ohhh, heaven's me, Adobe REFUSES to release Photoshop and CS3 on Linux, which I wasn't going to even buy anyway.
2. Ohhh, Mac users are disgustingly in love with their systems, everyone knows that my wife Ubuntu-PC and I are almighty Gods who need to start a MAC HOLOCAUST.
2. Ohhh, gosh, those Fedora folks want to BREAK compatibility!
3. I want to support Free Software, but I demand to use proprietary drivers!
4. Ohhh, You have an Opinion. And you don't LIKE Ubuntu as much as I DO! YOU FUCKING DEMON, RETURN TO YOUR CONFINES IN VISTA HELL!!! LOLOLOLOL!
5. Oh my, user adoption is down. We try and make a pretty brown scheme to get more users, but we refuse to support a proper art team. God, how HORRIBLE would that be?!
6. You can do everything you want to do on a PC or Mac for free...except make good movies...DAMN IT, ADOBE, RELEASE CS3 UNDER THE GPL! GNU'S NOT UNIX!!!!!
7. I don't WANT to call GNU/Linux GNU/Linux, I want to call it Ubuntu! FUCKING FREEDOM! AAAH!
8. Compiz Fusion is SOOO AWESOME, but I REFUSE to use it, as it wastes my precious productivity.

Honestly, their Cult is the worst fucking cult I've ever seen. At least not all Linux users are like this.
I, On the other hand, use GNU/ Hurd. It is a snapshot from 2010, stolen from the future. Thanks to Future-Noveau project, it works wonders. Amazing. RMS was RIGHT!

J.K Rowling, You Evil BITCH!

So, I'm extremely pissed at J.K Rowling (the bitch who wrote the Harry Potter books), mainly because of what I just read in NewsWeek.

Now, it's been common street knowledge for a while that J.K Rowling and Warner Brothers have both viciously pursued fan communities. Often times, these communities are actually shut down because of "Copyright Infringement"

So, why is this one especially bad? Shouldn't an author normally pursue people that "rip off their own work"? The answer is yes, but this isn't that sort of case.
The Harry Potter Lexicon is a fan-made dictionary written by prominent fans in the Harry Potter community. While many of the elements are Rowling's implementations, the writing and concepts themselves are creations of the fans. They have every right to make some fan-made version, even if they have to put slap "Unofficial" or "Fan-Made" on their page.

I find it appalling that these fans made something that genuinely praises her work in every aspect, and all she does it take an enormous shit all them. Honestly, this "modest little poor woman that made it big" has been wallowing in her own greed for quite a while now. I think that if she's going to treat her fans in this way, then they should, by all means, find someone else to praise. Maybe they could write their own books, for once.

Various Anger

So, I have something to say about Standardized Testing...GET FUCKED. I have to deal with the horror stories of kids and standardized tests, year AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR! That's what you get when you have seventeen children.

First off, the tests out there nowadays give you NO rights. At all. You can't legally tell anyone about the questions on the tests, even. Noo, that's "Copyright Infringement".

Copyright Infringement, my ass! Hey, douche bag, whatever happened to freedom of speech?

The tests themselves are just awful. Let me bring up a popular one: the ACT. It's pure bullshit. Students spend a whole year preparing for it. They learn ACT Problem-Solving skills. But wow, the ACT Foundation never actually tells kids what their tests cover, they just give generic subjects. So, after a year of preparation, the kids take the test, and at least 75% of it is comprised of things that they haven't learned.

My son Raul said that he had to do Trigonometry, and he was learning the basic fundamentals just the day before the test. No wonder the "No Child Left Behind Act" is failing so badly.

If foundations like ACT's would just release proper study material, then kids across the country would be able to study what they need to know. Besides which, the ACT's become a fucking intelligence test, one to root out any kids "worthy" of getting into a good college.

An intelligence test measures several things: how much you know, how good your problem solving skills are, things like that. The ACT gives a limited opportunity for a student to know enough to "Be Exceptional" on this test. And gee, it's supposed to determine your ENTIRE future?

What the fuck is wrong with people?!

The Macbook Air, Greatest Ripoff in History

Yes, you read that right. The Macbook Air is, in my opinion, the BIGGEST ripoff in consumer history. That includes such ventures as the Delorean, Milli Vanilli, and others. Its failure is also a throwback to the Edsel. Why? Well, let's dive into that.

First and foremost, Apple has become a hype machine. It's well known that any time they release a semi-decent product, they advertise it as if it were a prepackaged God sitting in a slick looking box. This especially counts for the MacBook Air. Cumulative studies have shown that MacBook Air and iPhone ads nearly DOUBLE the amount of commercials for PC's, mobile devices, etc. What's worse, these commercials give the impression that by buying into the product, you're an individual. It's especially disgusting because a majority of the Mac community is made up of social outcasts who just couldn't find their place in the world. Pity.

But let's ignore that fact for a moment, and take a look at the real issue: the Macbook Air sucks. No CD/DVD Drive?! That's okay, just buy more crap from Apple to pretend that you DO have one. You can download every game you need, buy all your movies from Apple, it's ALL GOOD, isn't it?

What really kills is the price, which is the most pitiful thing I've seen in quite some time. No matter how great a thin laptop like this could be, you have to spend $1700 to get a stripped down laptop with less features, less storage, and less capabilities than any ordinary laptop. Sure, it's still cheaper than a Macbook Pro, but once you get over the fact that you can fit it into an envelope, there's just not much to it.

From all the brief floor shows I've seen it at, let me say this: it's ugly. When I picked it up, I felt like I could break the damn thing in half, on accident, still voiding my Apple warranty. It was slightly slower than the ordinary Macbook. Not only that, I was afraid to type anything at all, as it felt that my fingers would've broken straight through!

And finally, the storage is a joke. 80 Gigabytes for an overpriced laptop? You've got to be kidding me. When an iPod stores more data than your computer does, something is very, very wrong.
